Setup Menu

With one exception, NetAlive requires a valid setup to run:

  1. If NetAlive does not have a valid setup, the only thing the user can do is change the setup or exit.
  2. While the user may change the setup at any time, changes creating an invalid setup are treated as temporary until fixed or discarded.
  3. The user can temporarily override warnings about an invalid setup. This lets NetAlive run with an invalid setup, but only until the NetAlive system program exits. The next time NetAlive starts, it will be in a mode where the only thing the user can do is change the setup or exit.

When NetAlive detects an invalid setup, it offers the user three options:

OK

Checks the validity of all setup parameters. If the parameters pass the check, NetAlive begins normal operation. Otherwise, the user is given the choice "Abort, Retry, Ignore" (see above).

Cancel

Abort. If the previous setup was valid, NetAlive continues with normal operation. Otherwise, NetAlive exits.

Quick Exit

Quick exit is similar to OK except it avoids time-consuming inter-program operations with the Web browser and program manager.

Checks the validity of some setup parameters. The Web browser and "program manager" interfaces are not checked. If the parameters pass the check, NetAlive begins normal operation. Otherwise, the user is given the choice "Abort, Retry, Ignore" (see above).
