NetAlive DocumentationThis tutorial shows how to filter Internet data to separate useful information from formatting.
This tutorial has a sample program that gets Internet data and filters it with a simple Perl function.
The sample's parts can be used separately: the user can get Internet data once and apply the function many times (this is useful for developing the function's source code).
The sample has a simple Perl function, but the user can use the design tool to change the function and test it. In fact, this sample can serve as a "development tool" to create functions for transfer to a palette or another NetAlive application once developed.
Interactive Demonstration
Press to invoke tutfunc.net.
Create input for the sample function in one of two ways:
Either way, the input gets stored in a disk file and will be available the next time the sample starts. The current input is displayed for convenience.
Press the ">>Function>>" button. NetAlive runs the function and puts the result in the "Output:" area.
Switch to "Task definitions" view and scroll to the task ">>Function>>." You may now edit the function.
Start the application by "Control -- Run" from the menu (or hitting the "rocket" on the button bar).
